Compress PDF

Compress PDF shrinks oversized documents so they are easy to email, upload or archive. You choose how aggressive the compression should be: Low keeps the file near-original, Recommended balances size and clarity, and Extreme squeezes it as far as it will go while staying readable. Text stays sharp, and your file is deleted from our servers as soon as the download finishes.

How to use Compress PDF

  1. Select the PDF you want to shrink — several files can be queued one after another.
  2. Choose a compression level: Low for no visible loss, Recommended for the best balance, Extreme for the smallest file.
  3. Press Compress PDF and let the server optimise images, fonts and structure.
  4. Download the smaller file and check it looks right before sending it on.

Compress PDF FAQ

How much smaller will my PDF get?

It depends on the file. Image-heavy documents often shrink dramatically, while text-only PDFs are already compact — the Recommended level usually gives the best result.

Does compression reduce readability?

No. Text stays fully vector and sharp; only embedded images are resampled. If quality matters more than size, pick the Low level.

Why is my PDF still large after compressing?

Very large scans or photographic PDFs have a natural floor. Try Extreme, or downsample the source images before building the PDF.
