Compress Image

Compress Image reduces the weight of photos and graphics so pages load faster and attachments stay under size limits. Metadata is dropped, pixels are optimised and quality is tuned so the picture still looks right — usually you will not see the difference, but the file can come out a fraction of its original size.

How to use Compress Image

  1. Choose the images you want to shrink — JPG, PNG and TIFF are supported.
  2. Press Compress Image and let the server optimise each file.
  3. Download the lighter versions as they finish.
  4. Compare one against the original to confirm the quality is acceptable.

Compress Image FAQ

How much smaller will the files get?

Photos often drop by 50–80%. Graphics with flat colours and transparency benefit most; already-optimised files have less room to improve.

Does compression lose quality?

Some, by design. The tool balances size against visual quality so the result stays sharp for screen use — if you need the original, keep a copy.

Does it strip the metadata?

Yes — camera and location metadata is removed, which also keeps private details out of images you publish.
