Excel to JSON

Excel to JSON turns spreadsheet rows into an array of objects, using the header row as keys — exactly the shape APIs and scripts expect. It is the quickest way to move a spreadsheet into a database import, a dashboard or a configuration file without retyping anything. The workbook is read locally in your browser.

How to use Excel to JSON

  1. Select the .xlsx or .xls file you want to convert.
  2. Press Convert — the header row becomes the property names for each record.
  3. Check that the values landed under the right keys.
  4. Copy the JSON or download it as a .json file.

Excel to JSON FAQ

Does it use the first sheet?

Yes, the first sheet becomes the dataset. Reorder the sheets first if you need a different one.

What happens to merged cells or blank rows?

Merged cells resolve to the value in the top-left cell; blank rows are skipped so the array stays clean.

Is my spreadsheet uploaded?

No. The file is read and converted inside your browser — it never reaches a server.
