Repair Image
Repair Image attempts to rebuild picture files that will not open, display only partially, or crash the viewer. It reads whatever survived the damage — headers, colour tables, scan lines — and writes out a clean file. Partial results are still useful: a recovered photo beats a file you cannot open at all.
How to use Repair Image
- Upload the image that is damaged or will not open.
- Press Repair Image and let the server attempt to rebuild it.
- Download the repaired file.
- Open it and check how much of the original picture was recovered.
Repair Image FAQ
What kinds of damage can be fixed?
Truncated files, broken headers, corrupted colour tables and interrupted downloads are the most common cases. Success depends on how much of the file survived.
Will the image be perfect again?
Not always. Rebuilt files can show artefacts or lose the damaged section — but the result is normally viewable where the original was not.
Can it work on a PDF?
No — for documents use Repair PDF, which handles the same kind of structural damage in PDF files.
